I have a really hard time thinking when I can make a good black and white picture. But not in this case. All the contrast with mixed with a mid-day caught my attention and I just looked for the right angle for a latter conversion in my computer to black & white.
Like most of cameras, I can set my camera to take B&W pictures. The camera actually takes a full color picture and shows you a B&W JPEG on the display. If you shoot RAW the picture will still be in color when you import it to your computer. It's a great tool to learn B&W photography. Unfortunately I don't use it.
Please keep in mind that the exposure settings listed above only work for the lighting conditions I had when I took the picture.
