A while ago, when we where just starting in photography we purchased our first clamps and I didn't really think I was going to use them that much. Now that we are doing much more still and product photography, I realize how important tools they are for the set up. Today when I took them out of the bag, I though about hom much we use them and though they would be a great subject for our next picture. Because they are so shinny, and reflective, they were a fun but challenging subject to work with.
I set them up on my kitchen counter. I used one light with a diffuser to the right of my camera, and a bounce card to get some light reflection on the edge of the clamp. Camera was mounted on the tripod. I used manual focus and the timer on the camera to avoid camera shake.
Please keep in mind that the exposure settings listed above only work for the lighting conditions I had when I took the picture.
