Blowing Snow

If you have been into photography long enough, chances are you have heard other photographers say that they make photographs. A photographer considers many variables and options before a picture is taken. Things like camera settings, analyzing the light, composing the picture, the position of the camera, the use of filters or other tools, the time of the day when the picture will be taken and many other things. That is why I consider photography an art.

There are times when we are just lucky. Times when, it looks like the photograph steps in front of us. That’s what happened to me in this photograph. That bench is less than half a block from my place. I’ve seen it thousands of times. And I had never taken a single picture of it. But on this big snow storm, the wind picked and when I went out with the camera, I knew I had a picture in front of me.
