Roses

I had some roses at home that my son gave me the other day. He wanted me to keep them "forever". I explain they wouldn't last that long. So I decided to get my camera with a macro lens and take a photo of one of them. That way we would be able to have them forever in our memories. I believe that is what I love most about photography. It allows us to keep memories that are special to us. I'm sure that in the future when my son and I look at this picture, we'll remember when he went to the store with his dad and brought roses for me.  That was very special!

Daily Picture - Butterfly

It's been a while since we posted a daily picture. I thought this picture that I took yesterday would be a nice one for a come back to our blog. I took it yesterday while we bbq.  I was glad to have the camera with me. We try to bring it out as often as possible. You never know when an opportunity comes out.

Daily Picture - Macro Photography

One of the fun things of photographing outdoors in spring is that we find lots of opportunities to take pictures of bugs and flowers in bloom. You don't have to go far to find interesting subjects to photograph. Any park, playground or backyard would do it. You just need to look very closely. Use a macro lens or extension tubes to very close to these tiny animals.

Daily Picture - Signs of Winter

This morning we woke up to little snow in the ground that soon became ice. Which to me it is a great subject to photograph. I used a macro lens that allowed me to get very close to the ice and the water droplets.

Daily Picture - Rust

I found this piece at a parking lot. Its rusted texture and color got my attention. I got very close and shot from and angle to tried to avoid much of the background, since it was busy and not interested. It would have taken a of interest from the main subject. The picture was taking on a cloudy day, late on the afternoon.

Daily Picture - Smoothies

A good smoothie is very easy to make. It only takes fruit, in this case blackberries, milk and sugar.  Put everything in a blender and you'll have delicious smooties in no time.

To take this picture, I placed the smootie on a table in fronto of a window. I added a white reflectores on each side to add some light in the front and some definition to the side edge of the glass..
